The role

The Shared Digital Service are seeking two innovative Solutions Architects to research, interpret, scope, design, approve and oversee the implementation of complex business information systems, servers and network infrastructure solutions for core and strategic ICT projects across Camden, Haringey and Islington Council. The post holder will be required to research and evaluate technologies in order to advise senior management across the council on the best solutions to meet business objectives and the wider needs of the council.

Working within the Shared Digital Service, you will take a collaborative approach, engaging with stakeholders at all levels to ensure solutions provided meet both user needs and technical standards.

The post holder will proactively review existing business solutions and lead on the creation of high-level and low-level designs, with a focus on either data architecture or customer web architectures.

The Shared Digital service aims to reinvent technological solutions from a user perspective and this role is essential to delivering this.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in computer science/technology, or you’ll have demonstrable work delivered to a degree level standard.

You will have experience of architecting solutions and a strong working knowledge of IT architecture: applications and security, infrastructure including servers, storage, databases, networking, within an Enterprise Architecture context. An understanding of the information lifecycle and familiarity with the security standards and all relevant legislations is essential to the role.

You will have excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to build and maintain lasting working relationships while influencing key stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have experience of architecting data lakes, using BI tools e.g. Qlik Sense, data warehousing and ETL solutions OR experience of architecting customer facing websites/portals including experience of CMS, CRM, Case Management, n-tier architecture, web services and micro services.
