Embedded Software Role | FreeRTOS / SafeRTOS / OpenRTOS | Bristol

I am looking for an Embedded Software Engineer with experience of Safety Critical RTOSs for a contract based in Bristol. Experience of motor controls, comms protocols, and embedded systems.

Rate: £40 - £50 per hour

Length: 3-6 months

Start: ASAP

Location: Bristol

Key Skills:

* FreeRTOS or SafeRTOS or OpenRTOS

* Communication protocols: CAN, CANopen, Ethernet; ARINC 429

Essential Skills

* Embedded C

* ARM micro-processors: eg TI TMS570, TMS32

* Complex engineering development including: requirements, design for manufacture, verification & validation

Desirable Skills

* Formal documentation eg Software Requirements Specification; Software Interface Specification; Software Design Description; Software Integration, Verification & Validation Acceptance Plan

* Motor control of 3 phase Brushless DC (BLDC) motors

* Detailed design and modelling

* Testing & Integration

* Integration with hardware

* Standards: DO-178, IEC 61508, ISO 15765

* Advanced engineering processes eg CMMI level 3-5 or equivalent

* Interfacing with external experts

* Estimation and forecasting

* Willingness to travel occasionally
