Job Description

Our client provides high performance products, product development, validation and reliability services through its motorsport, special series and engineering services product lines. This role develops safety critical embedded software for active safety and driveline systems being applied to some of the world's most exciting racing and special series vehicle applications.

You will apply software engineering, project and supplier management, customer liaison and technical support skills to product applications engineering projects and business development activities as a technical lead of software project tasks.

Your tasks:

* An ambassador for the client

* A member of the Software Group reporting to the Software Team Leader for Product Applications

* Technically lead certain software development projects and work packages

* Develop system and software requirements, specifications, software designs, coding in embedded C

* Validate software performance and safety by using a range of software testing techniques

* Specify and manage the delivery of software work products by sub contracted off-shore teams

* Prepare project proposals and customer quotation estimates

* Contribute to the development of engineering processes and procedures

Your profile:

Essential:

* Bachelor's degree or higher in a related discipline

* Post-graduate experience of software engineering life cycle for safety critical product applications

* Experience in hands-on development, planning and managing of software activities

* Willing and able to visit customers facilities in UK, EU and USA

* Fluent English language and good inter-personal skills for customer and supplier liaison

Desirable:

* Experience of use of structured system design, UML and/or Model based development using Matlab/Simulink

* Experience of delivering software to specification within time and cost constraints

* Able to use initiative, be self motivated and be a good team player

* Automotive domain knowledge
