Infrastructure Architect

Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit an Infrastructure Architect for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £450-550/day (inside of IR35) based in Edinburgh.

Responsibilities:

* Work as a member of the Architecture Team and perform tasks and duties as required within this team and across the business.

* Propose and agree infrastructure architecture policies, standards and design patterns.

* Propose and agree the infrastructure architecture for the business.

* Assure that products / systems / services delivered and operated as part of the respective programmes of work are compliant with these policies, standards and patterns.

* Take responsibility for producing the infrastructure architecture for the packages of work identified by the head of architecture. This will require working closely with business leads as well as project managers.

Requirements:

* Experienced Infrastructure Architect with ideally experience working within the public sector.

* Knowledge of VMWare or Hyper-V.

* Strong network design experience.

* Capacity and Problem Management experience.

* Experience of developing infrastructure design patterns.

* Experience of developing non-functional requirements.

* Experience of deploying and managing infrastructure as a Service.

Desirable skills:

* Knowledge and experience with cloud computing providers.

* Experience of delivering open source solutions.

* Ability to mentor less experienced technical colleagues.
