C/C++ Contract Software Engineer needed, G.Manchester

We are looking for two contract Software Engineers for an established and expanding Engineering company based on the outskirts of Manchester. The role will see you joining a small team of skilled Engineers in the IT team who work on challenging projects.

The Engineer will be involved in development, enhancements, maintenance of a new & high profile project. The role is working on a large electronic devices, so previous exposure to embedded devices with C++ on Linux is essential.

This will be for a six month contract with a view to be extended. The role will require someone to work on site 5 days per week, but some flex of start/Finish times can be offered if needed. Candidates need to be able to start within the next three weeks.

Skills & experience we are looking for include:

C/C++ Programming on a Linux platform.

Embedded system knowledge

Strong Linux programming skills - 2 Years

Linux systems

Good serial comms experience

Bash scripting, init scripts

Overall system configuration experience

Desirable skills include:

Video graphics / Touch screen application experience a desirable

Ability to hit the ground running and good communication skills
