DATA ENGINEER/£450-£525/LONDON

Data Engineer implements and maintains the information architecture for the mobility data business based on the end-to-end vision of the data architect. Looking for someone who can take on board problems and find a solution.

Role & Responsibilities

* Strong communication skills

* Take on board problems and find a solution

* Working for a consultancy on-site, within financial services

* Hands on, looking for someone who can provide stratergy

* They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams,systems and products

Skills

* Development experience building ETL and Talend

* Strong SQL development skills

* Development experience with at least two different programming languages (Scala, Python, Java, C, etc.)

* Experience in big tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Cloudera, AWS

* Development experience with at least two different database platforms (Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL, etc.)

* Minimum of 5 years experience designing, developing, and testing software aligned with defined requirements

* Experience tuning SQL queries to ensure performance and reliability

* Software engineering best-practices, including version control (Git, TFS, JIRA, etc.) and test driven development

* Exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as, Informatica, SSRS, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Tableau, , SpotFire, etc.
