DEVOPS ENGINEER: (ANSIBLE, JENKINS, CLOUD, MONITORING, DOCKER, SCRIPTING)

The work location is in NEWCASTLE and is a 3-6 month contract, paying between 500-525 PER DAY.

Responsibilities

* Working on various infrastructures, (windows / Linux ) ( Cloud / Data Centre ) to deliver high availability, rapid solutions using predominately open source software. Delivering automated solutions which deliver value to the customer.

* Advising the customers on the latest technologies and methodologies, designing and implementing innovative approaches to Automations.

* Ensuring software standards are maintained, being able to train and mentor junior staff. Defining processes and procedures to ensure re-use and standards.

* Understanding security policies and implementing solutions, which are high availability and scalable

* Providing feedback to a wider audience about the projects currently being worked on and introducing the team to new ideas.

* Advice on testing solutions, that can be automated and deliver an end-to-end testing solution for products.

* Advice on monitoring solution, which can automate error collection and help improve the customer's experience.

Primary Skills

* Experience with any configuration management tools, e.g. Ansible (preferred), Puppet, Chef.

* Experience with any build and provisioning tools, e.g. Jenkins (preferred), Terraform, Packer, Team City etc.

* Experience and knowledge of AWS, Azure, bare-metal and Virtual hosting.

* Experience of Test Driven or Behaviour Driven development, and being able to implement automated test solutions,

* The ability to integrate various products using APIs etc. enabling a joined up automated approach,

* Experience with monitoring systems, e.g. ELK, Nagios, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk etc.

* Experience with Docker container hosting (Kubernetes, RedShift etc.)

* Experience of modern program languages understanding at least one of: Bash script, Python, Ruby, Perl, C, C++, Java, PowerShell

* Working knowledge of digital delivery processes and methodologies

* Ability to work with an Agile Team, being able to be self-driven and looking for continuous improvement to both the process and the systems.

* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

* Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.
