Senior Test Analyst

Location: Southend

Duration: Initial 3 Months

Start Date: ASAP

Clearance: Disclosure of Scotland / BPSS

My client has an urgent request for an experienced Senior Test Analyst to join them on an initial 3 month contract basis with scope to extend to 6 months. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in the testing domain and be a confident leader who is able to coach and mentor others.

Skills & Experience Required:

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience in the following key disciplines:

* Assuring the performance of products by load/performance testing;

* Structured test methods and processes;

* Testing complex user interfaces;

* Testing using an automated test tool such as SOAPUI and setting up an automated test framework;

* Quality assurance techniques; and

* SOA and data communication techniques such as SOAP, XML, WSDL, JSON etc

* framework automation experience

* experience of middleware/integration testing

Specific responsibilities will include:

* Knowledge and understanding of test tools, methods and techniques as appropriate for level and specific job role i.e. use of SOAPUI, Groovy scripts, Mocks development and end-to-end test suite development;

* Assisting in the preparation of test plans and test scripts;

* Ensuring high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release;

* Preparing and maintaining test plans for use on automated testing tools;

* Preparing a test plan and test scripts to test each software component and demonstrating the business condition under test and the expected results;

* Executing test scripts and the observation and recording of test results;

* Identifying and logging of any faults;

* Maintenance and retention of test results & execution logs; and

* Creating tests for retest of corrected defects or changed requirements.

This role is a senior position, and therefore responsibilities will also include:

* Coaching and mentoring of junior testers;

* Estimation, recording and monitoring of test efforts and

* Testing best practices, including identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.

* The successful candidate will have experience with formulation of test strategies and/or approaches and experience in the scheduling and management of other testers' workload.
